Hi, my name is Owen Quinn and the author of five books in the Time Warriors series. The Time Warriors is the newest sci fi phenomenon from Ireland which aims to put Ireland back on the global sci fi map. But this site is more than that. This site is a celebration of all the shows and people that have shaped my love of science fiction over the years. And when I started I never realized just how much stuff I actually like. On here you will find shows you may have forgotten, breakdowns of Time Warriors stories, characters and aliens, sci fi events right here in Northern Ireland. There is no malice or intent on this site towards anyone or any show; this is stuff I am passionate about and still find myself watching years after I should ahve left them behind. But I won’t, not ever. Some people ask why I have never grown up and I say why the hell should I? Science fiction is a life long journey that continues to surprise and entertain me. I hope the Time Warriors will stand shoulder to shoulder with the greats one day but in the meantime have a look round, read something about your favourite show and please leave feedback where you can or if you want to see a feature on someone or something in particular, please let me know. Here at the Time Warriors we love everything from books to movies to TV to cartoons. I’m a 44 year old kid that at this stage will never grow up. I get excited every time I see a certain police box and in that moment when you actually stand on the threshold you believe that there may be more behind those wood panelled Tardis doors. And that’s how I see life, that everything should be an adventure, that there is nothing you can’t overcome and that everything happens for a reason. Life can be dark but there will always be light. And that isn’t some New Age bull, it’s my experience.
I live in Northern Ireland and wrote my first novel at 16 before discovering girls and drink and life sort of got in the way but the passion for writing was always there in the back of my head; sometimes an ember, sometimes a furnace but always there until my father died 7 years ago and I realized life’s too short and if I don’t do this now, I never will. I hope you enjoy it.
Life really is too short and by god have a ball as best you can when you’re here. So are you ready to come with me?
And the lesson this week? It’s bloody hard to get a publishing deal! So go out and publish yourself. Don’t wait for anyone else.
